International patient support in China

Updated 21 October 2026. Travel support boundaries and record handover clarified.

Practical guidance for medical records, hospital review, travel documents, language, payment, treatment logistics and follow-up.

What we coordinate

One point of contact around a complex medical journey.

China offers significant medical and research capability, but international patients may struggle with language, records, appointment systems, payment and fragmented communication. Our role is to connect those practical pieces after a credible medical pathway has been identified.

  • Case summary and record preparation
  • Hospital and specialist communication
  • Appointment and admission scheduling
  • Appointment and hospital acceptance information for your own travel planning
  • English–Chinese interpretation and coordination
  • Travel, accommodation and local transport support
  • Translated medical records and follow-up communication
Before you travel

Four things to confirm in writing

A treatment journey should begin with documents, not assumptions.

Institutional acceptance

The hospital has reviewed the case and explained whether an in-person visit is appropriate.

Clinical schedule

Tests, consultations, collection, treatment, observation and follow-up are dated.

Formal quotation

Medical, coordination and travel expenses are clearly separated.

Travel requirements

Visa route, passport, companion, accommodation and local transport are understood.

After the visit

Continuity matters as much as arrival support.

Before returning home, patients should know what symptoms require urgent attention, which tests are needed, when follow-up occurs and who receives results. We help organise the communication, but the responsible clinicians define the medical plan.

  • Discharge and procedure records
  • Medication and activity instructions
  • Required laboratory, imaging or functional follow-up
  • Contact route for medical questions
  • Translation for the home physician where needed

Frequently asked questions

Check current entry requirements with the relevant official authorities for your nationality and intended stay. RMC does not process visas or provide invitation letters.

This varies. We can coordinate translation of key medical records and discharge information when the institution issues Chinese documents.

Usually yes, but hospital access, accommodation and local rules should be checked in advance.

Payment methods vary by hospital. Formal instructions may include bank transfer, card, mobile payment or other methods.

It depends on diagnostics, treatment, observation and follow-up. Do not book a short fixed itinerary before the hospital confirms the schedule.

Follow-up may involve translated records, remote communication and coordination with your home physician. The institution should define what monitoring is required.

Medical assessment

Start with a confidential case summary

Tell us your diagnosis, current treatment and main goal. We will first check whether a credible pathway may justify formal hospital review.

Agree the records and follow-up before travelling

Confirm the receiving hospital, its written acceptance and the proposed indication or study screening criteria before committing to paid travel. RMC coordinates practical arrangements; the institution makes clinical and research eligibility decisions. Accommodation and local transport can be arranged within an agreed scope.

Ask for separate delivery dates for hospital originals, any native English report, separately translated records and DICOM image files. Book the clinician’s explanation and follow-up route separately. A completed examination or translated document does not mean that every report is ready or that treatment has been approved.

Keep medical and medicine charges, research-related costs, translation, accompaniment and travel expenses itemised by supplier. Confirm each payee and the refund terms before payment. See the staged budget guide and written case acceptance.

For general travel preparation and record continuity, see CDC medical travel guidance. This background guidance does not establish a Chinese hospital’s terms or guarantee a medical outcome.
